We advise private, public and multinational companies on capital projects from inception to completion, offering a one-stop shop across all infrastructure classes — airports, roads and bridges, energy & power, telecoms, and social infrastructure. Our work includes major first-of-its-kind Maldivian projects such as the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, Male’ International Airport, the airport link road, Atmosphere Group’s lagoon developments, and social housing projects for Indian and Chinese companies.

Bidding and tenders

We assist clients on bids and tender for greenfield and brownfield infrastructure projects. We have assisted various multinational conglomerates on bids for infrastructure project, including, GMR Group and Changi Airports on the bid of Male’ international airport development, and a Spanish-based conglomerate on the bid of the Gulhifalhu waste-to-energy project announced by Maldives Government.

Project documentation and management

We handle project contract documentation, including FIDIC-based contracts, guiding clients through preparation, negotiation and finalisation. We also support clients in securing relevant regulatory approvals and registrations, and liaise closely with Government authorities to keep projects moving through every stage of documentation and management.

Financing

We are a leading advisor on project financing in the Maldives, including resort and infrastructure developments. We have advised on several first-of-its-kind transactions, including HSBC and syndicate lenders on USD 300 million financing for a Pontiac Group lagoon development, and Industrial Commercial Bank of China on financing for the Male’-Hulhumale’ bridge and link road.

Dispute resolution, litigation and arbitration

We have vast experience resolving, arbitrating and litigating project-related disputes in the Maldives. We advise clients on the method best suited to their commercial objectives, aiming to resolve disputes quickly and with minimum disruption to the business. Our litigation and arbitration lawyers draw on extensive trial experience to help high-profile corporations, institutions and individuals through complex disputes.
