About

Tholhath Rasheed is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Applied Accounting [First Class] from Oxford Brookes University.

After completing his studies, Tholhath joined the audit department of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority as a Senior Tax Officer. He has worked as an auditor in the Large Business Audit Section of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority, where he was responsible for auditing the largest businesses in the Maldives, mainly involved in tourism, construction, and transportation.

With the growing presence of Multi-National Enterprises in the Maldives, Maldives Inland Revenue Authority formed its first Transfer Pricing Audit Section where Tholhath became one of the first members of the team. During his time as a member of the transfer pricing audit team, he has undergone multiple trainings on International Taxation and has worked closely with transfer pricing experts in addressing complex BEPS issues.

Apart from audit works, he was a member of the Income Tax research team where he was actively involved in drafting the income tax regulations. He has further participated in investigation cases and helped in formulating legal arguments and provided technical advice to the legal team of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority.

His experience in the accountancy field was augmented when he joined the Financial and Management Reporting section of the central bank as an Assistant Manager where he got to enrich the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Currently, he is an astute member of ACCA, working as a tax SHC Lawyers LLP. As a registered mentor at Oxford Brookes University, he is simultaneously mentoring potential ACCA graduates in achieving their academic qualifications from Oxford Brookes.
