About
Kànesh Jayasinghe is a partner of FCLLP Maldives. He has been providing advisory services for nearly thirteen years and has experience covering nearly one-third of the Maldives market’s tourist resort properties. Kànesh is experienced in transaction and strategy-related consultation, including business valuation and modeling, mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence, business process automation, restructuring, and risk assessment.
He has earned service credentials from international banks such as Bank of Ceylon, State Bank of India, National Development Bank and People’s Bank, Doha Bank, Mitsubishi Corporation as well as a fund facilitation consultant to the Bank of Maldives PLC.
Further, Kànesh has contributed to notable tourist resort transactions (M&A and loan syndications) in the Maldives by performing cash flow-based valuations as per IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and ISRS (International Standard on Related Services) standards. He has been a leading co-valuer for royal chartered valuers performing property valuations in the Maldives for large-scale infrastructure assets and tourism establishments for mortgage, M&A and financial reporting purpose.
Prior to join FCLLP, Kànesh was the former manager for valuation and due diligence in Ernst & Young’s Maldives office. He has also worked in Ernst & Young’s Sri Lanka office as a member of the M&A due diligence team. In addition, Kànesh has gained commercial experience working as a CFO for a listed company. Currently, he works as a director of Dilottra Capital, which is a money market facilitation and fund monitoring firm based in United Arab Emirates. Further, he was the former advisor to the state minister for “Money and Capital Market and Enterprise Reforms” in Sri Lanka.
Kànesh holds a B.Sc. Finance (Special) (Hons) degree in financial management and instruments from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Sri Lanka, and MBA from Asia e University, Malaysia. He is a certified business accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountant of Sri Lanka. Currently, he is reading for membership in the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (UK) and Credit Institute of Canada.
