Employment advisory

Our clients come to us for strategic advice on board-level issues such as restructuring of organisations, risk management, austerity measures and redundancies, and day-to-day HR-related support. We assist companies extensively on drafting of employment agreements and advising on termination issues. We are regularly involved in assisting our clients to design various forms of employment policies, handbooks, and guides. These include advising on policies relating to disciplinary issues, sexual harassment, etc. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been thought leaders in advising our clients in the hospitality and aviation sectors in implementing austerity measures and redundancies required to survive businesses.

Employment litigation

We provide strategic input, direction and extensive on the full range of individual and collective labour conflicts in employment tribunal and courts of Maldives. We work with our clients to limit and financial damage. We have represented resort hotels such as One&Only Reethi Rah, Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi Maldives, and Grand Park Kodhipparu (Park Hotels) on labour conflicts in tribunals and courts. We have also represented airline clients such as Trans Maldivian Airways (world’s largest seaplane operator) on matters which have set important precedent in Maldives.
