We have represented resort hotels such as One&Only Reethi Rah, Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi Maldives, and Grand Park Kodhipparu (Park Hotels) on labour conflicts in tribunals and courts. We have also represented airline clients such as Trans Maldivian Airways (world’s largest seaplane operator) on matters which have set important precedent in Maldives.

We advise companies on tax compliance and tax-related disputes, with particular experience of advising resort hotel owners and operators. We handle complex and high-profile litigation before tax tribunals and courts on GST and corporation tax disputes. Our recent notable work includes acting for the Soneva Group on GST dispute claims at Maldives tax appeal tribunal, High Court and Supreme Court levels relating to imposition of tax on strata title villa sales, setting an important precedent in tax law matters.

Insurance litigation

We represent insurers and insured companies on complex insurance litigation cases. We have achieved significant victories for our clients at the trial and appellate level in Maldives. Our recent experience includes representing AIG Insurance (Dubai) and a 5-star resort hotel against a medical insurance claim relating to death a hotel guest.

International arbitration

Our lawyers have acted as counsel on international arbitration matters under major international arbitration rules and arbitration institutions, including London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).
