We have advised issuers, arrangers and underwriters on cross-border Regulation S/Rule144A debt securities offerings, including advising on the Maldives Government’s first sovereign bond issuance, and the tap issuance in 2018. We have also advised the Maldives Government and on the structuring sukuk offerings under syariah principles.

Initial Public Offerings

We are the go-to lawyers for Maldives-based companies considering IPOs. Our notable experience includes advising on the IPO for the telecom giant Ooredoo Maldives, and most recently advising Maldives Islamic Bank on its IPO in 2019. Newly public companies often continue to seek our services after the completion of an IPO, we routinely handle the array of issues affecting public companies.

Equity markets

We have significant experience representing underwriters and issuers in all aspects of equity securities offerings in Maldives, including, recently advising Maldives Transport and Contracting Company PLC in its rights issuance in 2018/2019.
