Tholhath is a Senior Tax Consultant at SHC Law & Tax, specialising in Maldives tax and international taxation. He advises local and international clients across a broad range of industries, with particular experience in the tourism and hospitality, construction, real estate, transportation and other service sectors. His practice covers corporate income tax, GST, withholding tax, transfer pricing, international tax and tax disputes.
Tholhath has been working in the taxation and accountancy field since 2018, including over five years in private practice. He advises businesses on the tax implications of commercial transactions, business structures and cross-border arrangements, and assists clients with complex tax audits, objections, appeals and other tax disputes. He has a particular interest in tax litigation and dispute resolution.
Before joining private practice, Tholhath gained experience at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority and the Maldives Monetary Authority, where he worked across large business audit, transfer pricing, international taxation, tax investigations, tax legislation and financial reporting. His experience within these institutions has given him a practical understanding of both tax administration and the broader regulatory environment in the Maldives.
