Ali Faris Mohamed is profoundly composed, self-motivated, and an enthusiastic professional with over ten years of experience in audit, tax, and related financial services in the Maldives. He is extremely driven by his passion and his quality of character is as in such manner where he strives for excellence in any goals he sets to pursue. In addition, he is an exceptional team leader who is very active and has a dynamic approach to work, and inspires people to work and adhere to strict deadlines.
Ali Faris Mohamed is the Founder and managing partner of Faris & Co, a leading audit firm in the Maldives.
He is a fully qualified member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a Level 2 Candidate of the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) Program. He holds a master’s degree in Finance from International Islamic University of Malaysia and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Admin (Accounting) from Lewis-Clark State College, USA.
In addition to holding an Audit License by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives, he also holds a Category 1 (Highest ranked) Tax Agent license by the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority. He has several years of experience in auditing, bookkeeping, tax consultancy and serves a diverse portfolio of clients from multinational companies to high-net-worth individuals and businesses in the Maldives.
He has worked in MIRA as an audit manager, overseeing and leading the audit division from June 2011 to August 2012. He was a Board Director at Maldives Pension Administration Office from Nov 2015 to Oct 2018 and was a member of Privatization & Corporation Board, Ministry of Finance and treasury from May 2013 to Feb 2014. Also, he has worked as a visiting lecturer at Villa College for three semesters teaching specialized financial accounting modules from January 2014 to June 2015.
Outside work, he is a passionate tennis player regarded as one of the best tennis players in the Maldives and the only athlete from Maldives who played US College Sports under a fully funded Athletic Scholarship.
